Residency at The Celebration Barn Sept 27- Oct 7 2011

Strong Coffee Stage had an amazing and inspiring week and a half residency at The Celebration Barn in South Paris Maine! It was a great experience to be nestled in the country side of Maine and creating a brand new solo show! The Celebration Barn gave us good energy to dive into our work and dig deep into our souls!

We were able to take this lovely residency due mostly to the fact that I received a grant from The Arts Endowment of The Vermont Community Foundation to begin work on a solo show! YAY!
Thank You Vermont Community Foundation!

While in Maine not only did we take time for hikes and walks in the luscious woods and fields but we also visited the small town of South paris where we often had to take time for a mocha or a latte at Cafe Nomad! I highly recommend them! They have awesome food and they sell wine and beer too! You gotta go early though because they close at 4pm sharp!

We also got the opportunity to work with Davis Robinson Professor of the Theatre Dept at Bowdoin College and Artistic Director of Beau Jest Moving Theatre, an innovative and inspiring Physical Theatre Company based in Boston Mass.

We taught a Clown and Partner Acrobatics class at Bowdoin College to the students in the theatre dept. It was a wonderful experience to share our skills with these very willing and capable students.
I have included some fun photos of our trip to Maine and our residency at The Barn! Thanks so much! We will be back next year or sooner!

Fools Fury Festival and our travels cross country!

Hi!
Strong Coffee Stage travels cross country all the way from Brattleboro VT to San Francisco California and the Bay area!
We had an awesome trip! So many crazy, fun, scary, annoying, blissful stories to tell! Stay tuned!
Best of all was just seeing this amazing countryside! WOW! There were many times I was just speechless and in awe looking at the beauty of this country we call the USA!
This is sad to say but we also became more aware of the many small communities in this country that are underprivileged and depressed. Save the small towns!

Highlights of Strong Coffee's first season

We had a great first year. In January, we staged New York Stories, a series of one acts about NYC, at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in Brattleboro Vermont. This was well received by the local community. Eric Davis taught a bouffon workshop and performed his "Red Bastard" solo show in May. In August we collaborated with the Hooker-Dunham Theater to produce a 24 hour play festival. Playwright Jeffrey Sweet took part in this festival, and retuned in the fall to teach a playwrighting workshop. And....founders Patrick Donnelly and Bronwyn Sims performed a 2 person adaptation of Antigone at Marlboro College, and also taught clown to incoming students as part of the Marlboro College orientation.

We are looking forward to more exciting projects in the coming year!
